DODGE CITY AT OULTON PARK
Freddy Avoids Trouble At An Action Paked Oulton Park race.
It was a case of dodge city at Oulton Park for Freddy at the latest rounds of the SEAT Cupra Championship.
.After an awesome start in the first race of the weekend, held on Saturday evening, Freddy made his way up to 4th. But having to swerve at the first corner to avoid Jeremy Gumbley closely followed by David Green cutting close left Freddy with a damaged wheel and on the back foot. Despite the car’s poor handling due to the wheel damage Freddy battled on for 11th.
The second race of the weekend was to see Freddy’s lightening quick thinking avoid what could have been a serious accident. Once again having made an excellent start and moving up places, drama ahead unfolded. Having been tapped into a spin, Andrew Herron was marooned in the track and Freddy was able to avoid him, literally by centimetres. Once again this put Freddy on the back foot as he rejoined in last but was able to claw back into the top ten and a 9th place finish.
Freddy is now heading for a week Tennis camp in Portugal and will hopefully come back to score an ace a the next round of the SEAT Cupra Championship when it heads to Knockhill in Scotland on 16-17 August.

PODIUM JOY FOR FREDDY NORDSTROM
Weybridge Racing Driver Freddy Nordstrom Takes 2nd Place At Snetterton For His Debut SEAT Podium.
Freddy Nordstrom (Weybridge) put in a superb performance to take 2nd place, and his first podium finish of the season, in the first race of the SEAT Cupra Championship's triple header at Snetterton at the weekend. The weekend was boasting an extra race than the usual two round format due to a round being cancelled at the last meeting due to weather conditions.
Driving the PlumberTraining.com backed SEAT Leon, he started 5th on the grid for the first race of the day. 19 year old Freddy, the youngest driver in the Championship, drove a flawless and determined race to take the second step of the podium behind local winner, Carl Breeze.
"It was great to be on the SEAT podium for the first time" said a delighted Freddy afterwards. "The car ran very well and I really enjoyed the race. Carl was just 0.4secs in front of me but I am more than satisfied with the 2nd place."
The second race of the afternoon saw Freddy take 6th place, and more valuable Championship points. But, it was to be disappointment in the third race which was shown live on ITV4. Locked in a superb battle with 3 other cars, Daniel Rowbottom's car lost control, cut across the grass and back onto the track collecting Freddy on its way. The front of Freddy car was damaged and he sadly had to return to the pits and retire.
"That was a disappointing end to a great day" said Freddy "but I don't believe it was malicious on Dan's part. We can leave knowing we are capable of podiums which makes me all the more excited for the next race."
His points haul from Snetterton sees Freddy rise to 8th in the Championship standings.
Freddy's next race will be at Oulton Park, Cheshire on 26-27 July.
