Mini S Class Champion, Freddy Nordstrom to Join The 2007 Seat Cupra Championship

Surrey motor racing Champion, Freddy Nordstrom has announced his plans to take part in the SEAT Cupra Championship in 2007. The Weybridge youngster, who won the Mini S Class Championship in 2006, makes the move which will continue to see him climb the sporting ladder to his overall ambition of competing in the prestigious British Touring Car Championship. The SEAT Cupra Championship is well respected as a training ground for the next generation of top flight Saloon car racers with a number of British Touring Car drivers having graduated from the Championship.

Freddy will contest the National B Class in his new car, one which comes with a winning pedigree! Freddy, who will run with Advent Motorsport the team which steered him to victory in the Mini Challenge, has acquired the 2006 Championship winning SEAT Leon Cupra R Class which took Mat Jackson to a stunning title victory last year.

Freddy appeared with his new car at the Autosport International Show where it attracted much attention.

"I am very excited about joining the SEAT Cupra Challenge" says Freddy, "It is both well organised and very respected, and you only need to look at its roll of honour to know what great races and racers it produces. This year sees the new two tier system and I will be competing in the National B Class but having seen the performance of the Leon Cupra R I believe we will be very competitive and I think this season will provide come very exciting duels for both the racers and spectators so I can't wait to get going! "

As well as racing on the track, Freddy will be tackling his A-levels this year so it is a busy year ahead for the 17 year old who finished the 2006 season with a 100% finishing record!
