PODIUM COMEBACK FOR NORDSTROM

Freddy Nordstrom On The Podium At Snetterton In The Latest SEAT Cupra Round

Freddy Nordstrom (Weybridge) made a welcome return to the podium in the SEAT Cupra Championship at Snetterton, following the carnage of the previous round at Donington which saw his SEAT Cupra R heavily damaged.

Thanks to the industrious work of SEAT, Vehicle Recovery and Advent Motorsport, Freddy was back on track for the 13th and 14th rounds of the SEAT Cupra Championship at the Norfolk circuit of Snetterton.

After a comfortable qualifying, the bad luck seemed to have followed Freddy from the previous round as in the first race of the weekend he came to a standstill just metres of the startline when a broken driveshaft caused his retirement.

Lightening quick work by Advent Motorsport saw him back on the grid for the second race, with Freddy now eager to make amends for the recent bad fortune. As the lights went out Freddy made a good start whilst around him carnage broke loose. HipHipHooray.com backed Freddy took quick thinking evasive action taking to the grass to avoid the crowd of spinning cars and this time luck was on his side as he cleared the chaos unscathed!

With the race red flagged, it was a three quarters of an hour wait until it could be restarted behind the safety car. Freddy made a good start and with R Class race leader, Harry Vaulkhard in his sights he raced hard in the reclassified 14 lap race. With a loss of rear end grip Freddy couldn't make the move on Vaulkhard but after recent experiences a return to the R Class podium in 2nd place was a very welcome result.

"It was a tough weekend" said Freddy afterwards. "The first race was very disappointing with the driveshaft failure being the worst timing but thankfully the team were able to get me back on track for the second race. It was a relief to be back on the podium!"
